Baseball Experience
- Originally from Panama City, Panama, and started Playing baseball at 9 years old and quickly fell in love with the game. At 11 years old made team Panama Metro (Equivalent to Team Ontario) and the same year made team Panama and played in the Latin American tournament in Maracaibo, Venezuela finishing 2nd in the Latin American Championship. During his time as a baseball player in Panama, he participated in many Provincial and National Championships and made Team Panama in multiple categories throughout his career.
- After dedicating most of his life as a kid to playing baseball and going to school, it soon paid off, and signed as an International Free Agent on February 1st, 2010 with the Boston Red Sox at only 16 years old. After Signing with the Boston Red Sox, Roberto played in the Dominican Summer League (DSL) with players like Xander Bogaerts, Mookie Betts, Frank Montas, Manuel Margot, Javy Guerra, and more! This experience allowed him to grow as a player, understand the game, and understand what professional teams look for in baseball players. After being released by the Boston Red Sox, Roberto was offered a job as an assistant coach with the DSL Red Sox 2 but declined as he decided to continue his education and look for a better future at St. Clair College in Canada.
- Once in Canada, Roberto went on to play at St. Clair College, won the OCAA Provincial Championships two years in a row, and achieved second place in the National Championships. Coach Roberto was part of the first-ever St. Clair Green Giants Summer Collegiate League in which they became the North Division Champions in their first year in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
- In July 2017, he was invited by the MLB to the Dominican Republic for 5 days to participate in their Coach Development Program - Advanced, in which he received a Certificate of Completion of this training. During this training, Roberto learned how to train and develop players for success, based on their abilities, skills, projection, age, and all other aspects that scouts look for when trying to find talented players.
- Today, Roberto is the Head Coach of St. Clair College's Men's Baseball team and during his first four years as Head Coach and Manager, he was able to help bring a provincial championship in four consecutive years to St. Clair College!
